2021 Fall Convocation

2021 Fall Convocation

Sabbath School will begin at 10:00 am and will feature the Youth Ministries Department of our conference and the music ministry of the Southwestern Adventist University Singers.  At 11:00 am, the Divine Worship Experience will commence.  Yours truly, Dr. Carlton P. Byrd, will be the speaker, and renowned singer, Pastor Marvin Sapp, and the Southwest Region Conference Mass Choir will share their music ministry.  Additionally, during Divine Worship, we will recognize several individuals who have made enormous contributions to our communities including Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, United States House of Representatives – Texas 18th Congressional District; Penny Johnson, CEO – Advent Health Southwest Region; and Ana Patterson, President – Southwestern Adventist University.  Believe me.  You will not want to miss this worship experience!

For our children and early teens (ages 4 to 15), we have not forgotten them!  Registration for their special Divine Worship Service will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 am, also at the Mansfield ISD Performing Arts Center.  For our Children’s/Earliteen Church, which will begin at 11:00 am, the nationally renowned “Power Team” will be the special feature!  Hence, our children and early teens will also have “top-notch,” age-appropriate, and relevant ministry programming!

We will have a Ministerial Ordination Service at 3:30 pm, followed by special recognition of our former Conference Presidents and Retirees, and Parade of Nations at 5:00 pm.  The day will close with Musical Vespers at 6:00 pm and a “Vision Casting” presentation by yours truly.  At sunset, our Youth Department will have a social activity for the young and “young at heart.”  Information booths from Breath of Life, Message Magazine, Oakwood University, Southwestern Adventist University, and the Texas Conference Adventist Book Center (ABC) will also be in place.

From all across our conference territory, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas, please plan to be in attendance for this great spiritual feast and time of fellowship!  Please be assured that COVID-19 Protocols will be in place including social distancing and the wearing of face coverings.  Given the size and scope of the Mansfield ISD Performing Arts Center, we will be able to comply with these protocols.
